Hollywood Jewelry Collection

During the Golden Age of Hollywood, lasting from the end of the silent film era in the late 1920’s to the early 1960’s, movies were abundantly issued by Hollywood studios.  The beginning of the Golden Age of Hollywood may well have been when “The Jazz Singer” was released in 1927.  At this time in Hollywood history, box-office profits for films increased as sound in feature films was introduced.  Most Hollywood films were strict in adherence to a given genre… whether western, slapstick, comedy, musical, animated cartoon or biographical picture.  Interestingly enough, the same creative teams often worked on films made by the same studio.  During the early 1930’s, MGM dominated the industry and contracted the top stars in Hollywood which included Clark Gable, Norma Shearer, Greta Garbo, Ava Gardner, Jean Harlow, Henry Fonda, Marlene Dietrich, Eliazabeth Taylor, Vivien Leigh, Grace Kelly, Gene Kelly, Barbara Stanwyck, Audrey Hepburn and John Barrymore among others.

Today, we as a society are still mesmerized by the mystique of the Golden Age of Hollywood.  As you scroll through the pages of the Hollywood Collection Original Reproductions … may the memories of your favorite stars and the movies they made famous come to life as you read their stories and view the most magnificent jewelry of that time.
